PAA - Terrariums for Homeschool with Heather Quinones (Mon, 9am-12noon) As Fall begins to set in and we prepare for winter now is the time to plan on bringing in some green to brighten those snowy days. Terrariums can be elaborately constructed or be as simple as an old see-thru plastic container. details
This class will teach your homeschooler to use recycled containers in creating their own terrariums and how to care for them. Students will also create little accessories for their new green space, such as benches, footpaths and buildings. A much larger terrarium will be on hand for everyone to assist in creating a larger piece for others to enjoy while at the academy. Registration is due by September 5th.
Alternate date is September 17th, what day works best for you? $20 each, $15 for PAA members.

PAA - Flower Pounding with Terri P. Vechery (Sat, 9-1pm) This workshop will teach you flower power! Take home art that is ready to frame. Learn how to extract a watercolor-like picture from pounding flowers, grasses and leaves onto specially prepared muslin with a hammer. details

PAA - Batiking the cold wax method with Heather Quinones (9am - 1pm) Using the cold wax method you will be able to explore and learn about basic batik methods. In this workshop you will have the opportunity to batik several types of material. details
We will be using chemical dyes so please dress appropriately. All materials are included. Make your fabric into a pillow case/purse, etc. or a wall hanging: placing in front of a sunny window makes the pieces look fantastic.
